the story

The Urban Art Collective Story

Story of evolution of UAC from inception to today with images of UAC events, renovations, etc.
The City of Chamblee was incorporated in 1908 — it’s been around for a while and is older than most Atlantans realize. Just like other cities its size, Chamblee has been defined by its industry. Originally it was known for its dairy farms before becoming home to Fort Gordon (what is now the Peachtree DeKalb Airport) during the world wars. Then, the manufacturing boom started in the middle of the mid-20th century becoming home to the Kodak and the Frito Lay facilities. In the 1990s and early 2000s, the city became known as Atlanta’s antiques destination.
